Ireland Carrickmacross lace vanity cloth made by nuns in Ireland who sew organdy on netting. Carrickmacross dates back to 1820s. I bought these 2 pieces from nuns who make lace at their convent of St convent Louis in Ireland.  Choose oval or star shape.

Oval: This is a lovely example of Ireland carrickmacross lace of a basket with flowers & shamrocks with a scalloped edge often used as a table center or dressing table piece

Star: This is a lovely example of Irish carrickmacross lace with shamrocks with a scalloped edge

Included with each lace is a booklet the nuns gave me on the history of carrickmacross lace (may also be spelled carrickmaccross) which originated in Carrickmacross town, Ireland.

Princess Diana had Irish carrickmacross lace on her wedding dress.
