  • Beschreibung: Klauber war eine Augsburger Familie von Kupferstechern und Kunstverlegern. Aus der Hand "des begabtesten Kupferstechers der Familie"; "Königlich dänischer und kurtrierischer Hofkupferstecher", wurde 1796 nach St. Petersburg berufen; mit Aufenthalten in Rom und Paris; wurde als einer der qualitätvollsten deutschen Kleinmeister geschätzt. 1787 wurde er in die Pariser Akademie aufgenommen; mit dem Titel "Graveur du Roi"' ausgezeichnet.

  • Description: Klauber was an Augsburg family of engravers and art publishers. From the hand of "the most talented engraver of the family"; "Royal Danish and Electorate of Trier court copper engraver", was appointed to St. Petersburg in 1796; with stays in Rome and Paris; was esteemed as one of the most qualitative German small masters. In 1787 he was admitted to the Paris Academy; awarded the title "Graveur du Roi"'.
