  • Beschreibung: Meisterhafte Genredarstellung aus dem Umkreis des berühmten Graphikers Francis Seymour Haden, dessen Stil schnell gezogener Linien auch in diesem Blatt sehr gut zur Geltung kommt. Besonders die Takelage der im Hafenbecken vertäuten Schiffe zeichnet sich durch die Präzision der Nadelführung aus, die dem Gewirr der Taue Regelmäßigkeit und Geradlinigkeit verleiht. Im Vordergrund ist eine Gruppe Arbeiterfrauen zu sehen, die wartend am Quai sitzen.

  • Description: Masterful genre depiction from the circle of the famous graphic artist Francis Seymour Haden, whose style of quickly drawn lines is also shown to its best advantage in this sheet. The rigging of the ships moored in the harbour basin in particular is characterised by the precision of the needlework, which lends regularity and straight lines to the tangle of ropes. In the foreground, a group of labourers' wives can be seen waiting on the quay.

  • Condition: Very good condition. The delicate paper is minimally broken along the edges of the printing plate. There are slight bump marks and creases along the upper edge of the sheet. The paper is slightly torn at the top left.
