  • Beschreibung: Das Blatt zeigt ein ornamental gerahmtes ovales Miniaturporträt des französischen Königs Philipp VI., war von 1328 bis 1350 König von Frankreich. Er war der erste König aus dem Haus Valois, einem Seitenzweig der Dynastie der Kapetinger. In seine Regierungszeit fällt der Beginn des Hundertjährigen Krieges zwischen Frankreich und England. Das Blatt stammt aus dem Buch: Cronique sommairement traictee des faictz heroiques de tous les rois de France, & des personnes & choses memorables de leurs temps, herausgegeben von Clement Baudin, in Lyon. Das Buch zeigt eine Sammlung von Bildnissen der Könige Frankreichs mit kurzgefassten Lebensläufen.

  • Description: The sheet shows an ornamentally framed oval miniature portrait of the French King Philip VI, was King of France from 1328 to 1350. He was the first king from the House of Valois, a side branch of the Capetian dynasty. His reign marked the beginning of the Hundred Years' War between France and England. The sheet comes from the book: Cronique sommairement traictee des faictz heroiques de tous les rois de France, & des personnes & choses memorables de leurs temps, edited by Clement Baudin, in Lyon. The book shows a collection of portraits of the kings of France with brief biographies.
