Last stocks of salt from Ukrainian Soledar

Soledar – which means gift of salt – fell in January, allowing the Russians to step up their assault on Bakhmut, about 40 miles (ca. 64 km) to the south. Nearly every Ukrainian home had a package of salt from Soledar.

Shortly after the Russians began their invasion, Soledar came under a sizzling bombardment. People worked under shelling to extract enough salt from the ground to replenish the national strategic stockpile before the shelling forced the company to suspend operations in mid-spring last year. 

Now Ukraine, for the first time in its modern history, relies on imported salt. The last stocks of Salt from Soledar are sold in a special package marked “Will” and the proceeds from the sale are used to provide for the 3rd separate assault brigade in the east. With the purchase of this salt, you also help another unit that protects Ukraine. Along with the package of salt, you will also receive a small surprise specially created for those who help this Ukrainian military unit.
