A Really Good Looking Chest of Drawers
A good looking piece in the Georgian style
A nice piece in a polished hardwood / mahogany finish
It’s quite an unusual piece this one and I’m not sure if it’s origin
I think it may be Continental
It’s in two pieces with three drawers to the top and two larger drawers to the base
Each section has the original cast handles to each side for carrying it
It has a decorative carved edge to the top all the way around and matching carvings to the base with four bulbous carved reeded tapered feet
Each drawer has an unusual sunken round pull handle
It is incredibly heavy !
the given it a polish and it’s come up pretty well as you will see
It’s in a slightly medieval rustic style
Overall a really nice chest with the odd mark here and there but nothing you wouldn't expect for an item of age etc ( see below )
Sizes
Height - 121 cm
Depth - 43 cm
Width - 108 cm
Items to note
As with all items of age they can show signs of ware and use but can also have character that you won't always find in new pieces
The cabinet is in nice order overall , there are a few small age related marks here and there around the top edges etc (see photo )
There is an aged crack line on the top , this has been filled and coloured over time ( see photo )
There are a few small marks on the feet but nothing major at all just through age and wear ( see photo )
The drawers have cockbeaded edges and some of these are slightly damaged and a couple are missing ( see photo )
Other than that it’s a superb piece
The cabinet is located near Beauly in the Highlands and can be viewed and collected from here or I can deliver anywhere within mainland UK for £50
