a significant historical mapS that originated from Korea.
Created during the Joseon Dynasty, the Tae Chosŏn chido is renowned for its
comprehensive depiction of the Korean Peninsula and the surrounding regions.
The Tae Chosŏn chido was commissioned by King Chŏngjo, who reigned from 1776 to 1800,
with the purpose of accurately representing the geography and topography of the
Korean Peninsula.
It was completed in 1861 by a team of cartographers led
by Kim Jeong-ho, a prominent Korean geographer and scholar.
