I have listed for your perusal a highly sought after English Victorian Onyx/Bronze Gold Ormolu Equestrian / Racing Jockey Hat Pen & Ink stand, of which although unmarked, and because of the use of premium onyx was most probably produced by the premier maker George Betjemann & Sons, London.

The Pen & Inkstand consists of Twin Cut Crystal Jockey Hat Inkwells a central Onyx Paperweight and a stylised Horseshoe Pen Rack at the rear. The base is covered with a Red Velvet loose on one corner.

The condition of the piece is overall pretty good but there are signs of wear to the front edge of the Onyx base regarding some small chips but there are no cracks or damage to the Onyx other than this. (see pictures) One of the Cut Crystal Inkwells has a tiny chip to its rear top corner (see picture). Overall the Bronze/Brass Ormolu has lost most of its gilding due to oxidation over the years but this can be easily replaced by a competent restorer.

These Equestrian Pen & Inkstands do make premium prices, simply because of the Horse & Rider theme but  I like to be totally honest and transparent regarding the condition of any thing I offer, and the price I have placed on it reflects these points.

Dimensions: The Pen & Inkstand is  10.5"/26.5cm x 5.5"/14cm x 1"/2.4cm

The Cut Crystal Inkwells are 2.1/8"/5.7cm Sq

Onyx Paperweight is 2.1/8"/5.7cm

Package weight is 4kg / 8.8lb

The postage cost listed is for UK Buyers Only including insurance, European/Worldwide Buyers I would advise to use eBay's Global Shipping Service
