- The ARC-170 (Aggressive ReConnaisance) was
originally designed and developed by the Republic for assault and recon
operations against Separatist forces. Built for stamina rather than
speed, this heavy combat fighter is armed with laser cannons and proton
torpedoes, and can muscle its way deep into enemy territory. But with
the rise of Palpatine's new Galactic Empire, the fighter is modified to
serve a new and more sinister cause. This particular ARC-170 has been
customized by its Imperial Shadow Squadron crew, who are hunting down
pro-Republic remnants after the end of the Clone Wars.

The Aggressive ReConnaissance-170 starfighter, also known simply as the ARC-170 starfighter, was a heavy-duty model of starfighter used by the Galactic Republic during the Clone Wars and was considered the latest in fighter technology. Jointly manufactured by Incom Corporation and Subpro, it continued to see usage into the reign of the Galactic Empire, but was eventually phased out by the newer TIE line, though some found their way into the hands of the Alliance to Restore the Republic.
- After the fall of the Galactic Republic,
V-wing starfighters are redecorated to be come some of the first
Imperial vehicles of the new Galactic Empire. The V-wing has the speed,
blasters and maneuverability to make it a formidable weapon in the
capable hands of Imperial pilots.
- The Alpha-3 Nimbus-class V-wing starfighter, also known as the Alpha-3 Nimbus, V-wing starfighter, or Nimbus fighter, was a starfighter model manufactured by Kuat Systems Engineering.
After making its debut at the Battle of
Geonosis, the Republic's V-19 Torrent assault fighter is used with
effectiveness at the Battle of Muunilinst. Anakin Skywalker commands the
space battle above the planet, leading clone-piloted V-19 Torrents
against the Separatists’ droid fighters.
