Original orange decorated cloth. Spine rubbed; inner hinges cracked
and repaired with archival materials. Text is clean, tight, and
unmarked. The page signed by Finn is worn along its outer margin and
there is a small stain partially bleeding into Finn's autograph. Item

Fr. Finn (1859-1928) was a
hugely popular author of Catholic novels for young people during the
eartly 20th century. A Jesuit priest, he was extremely involved in the
growth of Xavier University in Cincinnati. Finn's novels were in the
popular vein of Horatio Alger Jr. from a Catholic perspective and
emphasize how virtue leads to success in life. Autographed copies of his
books are scarce.
