"Klemperer SACD Reprint Series I"

“DEFINITION SERIES” is now in its 20th year. Four years have passed since the first edition was released in March 2015, and the total number of titles is 37. We have been reprinting various sound sources, focusing on the old EMI label's masterpieces that had been buried, but the EMI label is still full of powerful items. Therefore, to commemorate the arrival of the 20th volume, we have decided to systematically release some of Klemperer's sound sources from now on on an irregular basis. In addition, a new Japanese commentary by the current leading expert on Klemperer interpretation will be posted, and the book will be reprinted with the "Klemperer Chronology" (common) attached separately.

A collection of all 14 Mozart symphonies, stereo recordings that Klemperer recorded on the old EMI label from 1956 to 1964, as well as old and new recordings of "Eine Kleine Nachtmusik" and other 5 discs. Previously, 6 symphonies were commercially available on SACD, but this time, of the 3 songs No. 38-40, of which there are two types, the old version of No. 38 and 39 recorded in 1956 and the old version recorded in 1962. No. 40, and three orchestral pieces, No. 25, 29, 31, 33, and 34, are the world's first CDs. The Mozart sound source, which can be said to be the essence of Klemperer, has been revived with the latest high quality sound. For this reprint, we used masters digitized at 96kHz/24bit from the original masters in Japan, and newly mastered the SACD and CD layers separately. For this reprint, we used masters digitized at 96kHz/24bit from the original masters in Japan, and newly mastered the SACD and CD layers separately. At that time, we conducted comparisons with previously released sound sources as much as possible, and in order to make the most of the music, we tried to perform optimal mastering while respecting the original analog master tape. The mastering engineer is Kosei Fujita, who has been in charge of authoring this series so far.

There are a total of 16 symphonies, including monaural recordings, and re-recordings from No. 25 onward on the EMI label, but for this release, we have selected the 14 remaining stereo songs and some orchestral pieces. It was No. 41 that EMI's famous producer Walter Legg (1906-79) saw the performance and signed a recording contract with Klemperer (the first recording was No. 41, recorded in October 1954). ). This time it is not included because it is a collection of stereo recordings, but Mozart was the trigger for many of Klemperer's subsequent sound sources that will remain in history (the last session recording of Klemperer's life was also recorded in September 1971). Lunar Serenade No. 11). Originally, Klemperer was partial to Mozart, and you can hear his commitment to the remaining sound sources. Please fully enjoy Klemperer's Mozart, which is like ``God is in the details,'' in high-quality sound.

In this series, the SACD layer aims for high resolution and a rich sound field with extended high frequencies and soft nuances, while the CD layer aims for a realistic tone that is pushed out with a solid sound. The CD itself has great potential, so please enjoy it as an SACD hybrid disc that allows you to enjoy the best of both worlds.
