    The Mapei Mapeguard 2 is a next-generation, thin (40-mil (1-mm)) lightweight, load-bearing, fabric-reinforced, “peel-and-stick” premium membrane (floor mats), which provides crack isolation, waterproofing, vapor-control, and sound reduction properties. This cutting-edge product is designed to meet all your flooring underlayment needs. This membrane helps to prevent existing or future in-plane floor cracks (with movement up to 3/8" wide) from transmitting through grout, ceramic tile, and natural stone. It addresses the existing cracks in the different tiled subfloors and prevents lateral stresses in plywood floors from being transferred to the finished floor tiles (bathroom tile, kitchen tiles). It contains 5% post-consumer recycled material, which provides excellent flexibility. The Mapei Mapeguard 2 white surface design makes it easy to view under lower-light conditions. It is up to 35% lighter than previous generations of comparable membranes, easy to position on the floor or cut to size, and great for use in confined spaces. Mapeguard 2 bonds to a variety of substrates, such as concrete, cement mortar beds, leveling coats, and cement backer units. This infloor uncoupling layer (floor mat) can be used with ceramic tile, vinyl tile, porcelain tile, cement tile, granite tile, marble tile, mosaic tile, stone tile, and linoleum tile. The Mapei uncoupling waterproofing and crack prevention membrane (underfloor mat) is ideal for use in the shower, hot tub surround, bathtub surround, laundry room, and living room floors.
