  • Bezeichnung: Unterhalb der Darstellung innerhalb der Druckplatte signiert "Mondon, inv." und "Joh. Georg Merz, exc. A.V.". Über der Darstellung nummeriert: "No. 4"; in der linken oberen Ecke der Druckplatte bezeichnet mit "D" und unten rechts mit "1.".

  • Beschreibung: Kunstvoll ausgeführtes und dekoratives Titelblatt der Folge B "Livre de Trophée", mittig betitelt mit: "Neu inventirte Siegs und Ehren Zeichen Erster Theil / Premier Livre de Trophée.". Phantasievoll verziert; mit Krone, zwei Löwen und Wappen. Dominierendes Stilmerkmal ist hier die Schmuckform, die dem Rokoko als Spätstil des Barock seinen Namen gab: die Rocaille. Sie wurde in Frankreich zur Regierungszeit König Ludwigs XV. ungefähr ab 1730 geschaffen.

  • Description: Artfully executed and decorative title page of series B "Livre de Trophée", centrally titled: "Neu inventirte Siegs und Ehren Zeichen Erster Theil / Premier Livre de Trophée.". Imaginatively decorated; with crown, two lions and coat of arms. The dominant stylistic feature here is the decorative form that gave the Rococo style its name as a late Baroque style: the rocaille. It was created in France during the reign of King Louis XV from around 1730.

  • Condition: Good condition. The decorative title page makes a very good impression. Browned due to age, with brownish stains in places; with small holes in the upper margin; slightly creased along the edges.
