The program is in very good condition.  There is a very light vertical crease when the light hits the cover.   Beyond this, there is only light wear.  There are two ticket stubs for this race included with this purchase.  Also included are newspaper clippings with race coverage from the local paper.  Numerous pictures were taken to assist with the condition and content of the program and the ticket stubs.

The Purolator 500 was held at Pocono Raceway on August 3rd in front of 48,000 fans.  Bobby Allison was fastest in qualifying for the 35 car field driving the #16 Roger Penske Matador.  The race was 200 laps on the 2.5 mile track.

David Pearson passed Richard Petty with 14 laps to go and would win the race by almost five seconds over Petty, Buddy Baker, Benny Parsons, and Richard Childress.  Pearson's car was smoking at the finish and he was black flagged with 2 laps to go.  He finished the race with no penalty since he had four laps of 'grace" before not being scored.
