Lacking d/j, some rubbing to front design, spine a touch cocked, some sunfading to spine, hinges a touch soft but intact, o/w VERY GOOD CONDITION.

KHEI was the Rosicrucian name for GEORGE WINSLOW PLUMMER, under which he published some very esoteric volumes such as ROSICRUCIAN FUNDAMENTALS. Under his own name he was the editor of MERCURY an esoteric magazine with ties to the SRIA. Plummer and Sylvester Clark Gould, a high level Freemason, formed the SRIA or Societas Rosicruciana in America after the form and example of the similarly named SRIA or Societas Rosicruciana in Anglia. Gould served as the Imperator and Supreme Magus until his death in 1909, after which Plummer filled the position until his death in 1944. As with the Societas Rosicruciana in Anglia, the membership of the Societas Rosicruciana in America was originally restricted to Master Masons only.

The book itself is a now classic "secret society" initiation novel set during the Napoleonic era and first published in 1894. This rare bookplate from George Winslow Plummer, also known as Khei Xº, is a must-have for collectors of Masonic and fraternal organization memorabilia.
