  • Beschreibung: Bildnis der Heiligen Ursula von Köln mit Krone auf dem offenen Haar und in einem fürstlichen Kleid mit verziertem Kruzifix. In dem aus Efeuranken gebildeten Rahmen befinden sich vier Ordensschwestern, deren Namen nach dem Anmerkungsblatt "Maria Vincenzia", "Maria Johanna", "Maria Clara" und "Maria Innocenzia" lauten. Ursula hält über Kreuz einen Palmzweig und einen Pfeil, der das Zeichen ihres Martyriums ist. Der Legende nach wurde sie nach der Ablehung des Heiratsantrages durch einen Hunnenprinzen, der die Stadt Köln belagerte, von einem Pfeil getötet.

  • Zustand: Guter Zustand. Leicht stockfleckig. Die Kanten des Trägerblattes sind schwach verfärbt und stellenweise bestoßen. Vereinzelt sind kurze Randeinrisse zu sehen. Rechts befindet sich ein etwas längerer Einriss. Das Papier mit den Anmerkungen weist Stockflecken auf sowie zahlreiche grobe Knickfalten. Die linke obere Blattecke ist ausgerissen.

  • Description: Portrait of Saint Ursula of Cologne with crown on her open hair and in a princely dress with decorated crucifix. In the frame formed by ivy vines are four nuns whose names, according to the annotation sheet, are "Maria Vincenzia", "Maria Johanna", "Maria Clara" and "Maria Innocenzia". Ursula holds a palm branch and an arrow above the cross, which is the sign of her martyrdom. According to legend, she was killed by an arrow after her marriage proposal was rejected by a Hun prince who was besieging the city of Cologne.

  • Condition: Good condition. Slightly foxed. The edges of the backing are slightly discoloured and bumped in places. Occasional short marginal tears can be seen. There is a somewhat longer tear on the right. The paper with the annotations shows foxing as well as numerous coarse creases. The upper left corner of the sheet is torn.
