  • Beschreibung: Vielfigurige Szene der Bibel aus dem Evangelium des Matthäus. Jesus Christus mittig, umgeben von den Pharisäern. In der Linken hält er die Münze als Steuer für den Kaiser: "So gebet dem Kaiser, was des Kaisers ist, und Gott, was Gottes ist!"

  • Zustand: Guter Zustand. Entlang der Blattkanten teils deutlich durch Randeinrisse und Knicke beschädigt. Langer Einriss oben links. Zwei grobe Einrisse am rechten Rand. Unten mittig zwei Fehlstellen. Mittig vertikale Quetschfalte. Blatt uneben aufgezogen und teils knittrig. Im rechten oberen Blattviertel befindet sich eine streifenförmige Bereibung. Schwache Bereibungen und Verfärbungen auf dem gesamten Blatt sichtbar.

  • Description: Multi-figure scene of the Bible from the Gospel of Matthew. Jesus Christ in the centre, surrounded by the Pharisees. In his left hand he holds the coin as a tax for the emperor: "Render unto Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and unto God the things that are God's!

  • Verso: Fragmented copperplate engraving as a base for the drawing

  • Condition: Good condition. Along the edges of the sheet partly clearly damaged by marginal tears and creases. Long tear at upper left. Two coarse tears at the right margin. Two missing parts at lower centre. Vertical box pleat in the centre. Sheet unevenly mounted and partly creased. A stripe-like rubbing in the upper right quarter. Faint rubbing and discolouration visible on the entire sheet.
