Jahrhundert außerhalb der römischen Stadt Augustodunum erbauten Mausoleums. Das Blatt entstand auf einer Reise, die den englischen Architekten, Kartographen, archäologischen Schriftsteller, Kunstsammler, Numismatiker und literarischen Übersetzer William Barnard Clarke zwischen 1838 und 1839 nach Frankreich und später im Jahr 1839 weiter nach Italien führte.

  • Description: The drawing shows the imposing corpus of the Pyramide de Couhard. The structure is the remains of a mausoleum built in the 2nd century outside the Roman city of Augustodunum. The sheet was made on a journey that took the English architect, cartographer, archaeological writer, art collector, numismatist and literary translator William Barnard Clarke to France between 1838 and 1839 and later on to Italy in 1839.
