A remarkable specimen of both high rococo form, with crisp detail and glowing gilding, and....
also, a fitting celebration of the Cross, the Crucifixion, and the Resurrection.

Many years ago, I was a dealer for several years, and, would travel relentlessly, searching
for the exceptional, the outstanding, the sublime.... Things, such as this piece!  The depth and
detail of the bronze frame is most-pleasing, and, that the original gilding is mostly present and still
bright, is, perhaps, something of a.....miracle.

Overall, 18" W x 11" W  with good depth, and, fair heft/thickness.

The cross, itself, is 10 3/4" H and the corpus is 6 1/2" H.

Even the cross, itself, has etched wood-graining....

The corpus, and titulus, appear to be bronze.

Couldn't effectively capture the effect, but, when shining a flashlight on the frame, the high points
on the frame {and cross} detail generate a 'jewelled' reflective effect.  Just magnificent...

Please note that the 2nd and 3rd photos show the true colortone...!

Please, feel free to ask any questions prior to bidding/buying.

** This will be a fair net lo$$, at the listed price (before absorbing the shipping cost), and, given that I prize the piece,
I'm not sure that I will be reducing/making offers, etc.  Indeed.....you may wish you had acted, before I end the
    listing...:)
