Big Brother and the Holding Company (or Big Brother & the Holding Company) formed in San Francisco, in 1965. By 1968, the legendary Janis Joplin had joined the band, and they released their second album, titled 'Cheap Thrills'. The cover's artwork is by underground comic book artist Robert Crumb (known as R. Crumb), and done in the style of a comic. It's awesome! Open it up, and there's a sweet gatefold, with a great band shot, playing live. This is the second version, in stereo, as the first version was released in mono (and those copies are worth BIG buck$).

Janis Joplin, of course, left this world in 1970, but she made some incredible music before she was gone. (RIP Pearl. We're lucky  to have your legacy of great music, and we still miss you, almost FIFTY FIVE years later...) Janis was only able to release one album before her passing, and a second album (called 'Pearl') came out shortly after her death. There has only ever been ONE Janis Joplin, and she was an artist that influenced countless other female musicians through the years!

'Cheap Thrills' has several light scratches on the vinyl itself. The jacket is holding up pretty well for something that's this old! The cover looks the best, but the inside gatefold isn't too shabby, either. A very cool 60s souvenir that is also a piece of music history. Pearl is ready to come home with you today, and sing you some sweet blues rock songs!

***Shipping worldwide once again! Ebay has enrolled me in their new international shipping program and handles all fees, paperwork, and we are both covered if anything happens in transit. And I pack well, using cardboard mailers and/or bubble wrap and padded mailers. So your item should get to you, wherever you are, in good shape!***

Ask me about combined shipping when you make multiple purchases.  If there are any problems once you receive your item(s), please give me a chance to make it right. MOST problems are easily resolved... Immediate payment if I accept your best offer, please. Also, if you try to make a seriously low-ball offer, it will automatically decline it. (REASONABLE offers usually get accepted.) Thanks for stopping by. Take care, and have a good day!
