Singing bowl approximately 23.0cm diameter (each is hand-beaten so size will vary slightly), complete with hand-carved wooden rotating velvet stick/dong, handmade cushion/pad on which to rest the bowl (please note that pad/cushion colour will vary; let us know if you would like a particular colour and we will do our best to comply), plus CD. All items come in a neat magnetic box, ready for storing or for gift wrapping.

 

  

This particular bowl is one of the most well-made that we have seen.  It also has a very melogic ring.

How to Use...

 

Singing bowls work in much the same way as a tuning fork. Tap the side of the bowl with the wooden wand and the bowl sings, or rather sends out a beautiful tone that lingers and lingers and then gently fades away. You can also make it sing by rubbing the wand in a circular motion around its edge.

 

The art of making singing bowls originates from Tibet and Nepal where they are made with a blend of base metals to produce unique sounds for healing and ritual purposes

For Cleansing Items : The vibrations of pure sound can quickly cleanse, balance and re-energize new and old Feng Shui items. You can use a singing bowl, a bell, a gong, a chiming bar or a tuning fork. Sound them close to the objects until you feel the items are completely cleared.

To Clear out Sickness Chi: Whenever a family member becomes ill, walk around the room three times in a clockwise direction while striking the singing bowl with the wooden mallet. The singing from the bowl will help purify the space and stop the sickness from spreading.

For Meditation: Sitting in a relaxed manner, place the bowl in the palm of your hand, or for a large bowl rest it on a firm cushion or a singing bowl ring. Strike the side of the bowl with the hardwood stick or flt covered baton. Let the sound ring out. Listen with closed eyes. Start by experiencing the sound as a whole. Once you are familiar with the sound you can begin to listen analytically…

Another way of setting the tone in the singing bowls is to rub the stick around the outside rim of the bowl. A full singing tone will be heard and will steadily increase in volume. Once the “singing” begins to ring out, continue for a few moments then stop rubbing, close your eyes and listen in a relaxed way.

Sitting quietly and breathing deeply you may strike a bowl such as this as a signal to yourself, like a full stop, that you are now taking time to be quiet. You may also turn your mind to the building you are in. As you strike the bowl imagine the sound bringing peace to your house too.

 

Playing the bowls usually causes an immediate centering effect as the tones set up a "frequency following response" that creates a balancing left-right brain synchronization. These subtle sounds connect you with the universal sound within and without.
