Down sizing and selling some of the great items I have bought over the past 30 years or so. This fabulous piece is a belt buckle & faux snakeskin belt by internationally known designer Mimi di Niscemi, which I bought from a high end women's boutique back in 1988 or 1989. Being a horsewoman, I was always attracted to any horse themed items and clothes.

This wonderful high quality piece shows a red fox superimposed on a hunting horn, and is attached to the original adjustable belt I wore it with. I may have had to buy the belt separately, and you can slide the buckles off and use them on another belt. Uses a 1.25" belt strip. The included belt is 36" long from end to end. This piece is in great condition.  Each side of the buckle measure 3", and together the two make a buckle that is 6" wide and 2" tall. Both pieces are marked with her original " Mimi di N" hallmark, and the date 1988. The gold gilt finish has very little wear to it. A truly wonderful designer statement piece! The photos do not do it justice.

Madame or Princess Mimi di Niscemi  was born in 1931 in Palermo Italy to an aristocratic family. She married Prince Alexander Romanov in 1971 after she had already established her jewelry business in the United States in 1960. Her jewelry and accessories were featured on the covers of Vogue and Harper's Bazaar magazines. She had also worked for a jewelry company who manufactured for Schiaparelli. She retired in 1995.

Please view the photos and feel free to ask any questions. My descriptions can be long as I want my buyers to know exactly what they are buying.
Thank you for viewing my beautiful belt buckle, and have a great day!
