Haviland Schleiger 214 Variant Gold Encrusted 11.125 Inch OVAL VEGETABLE BOWL

This gold encrusted variant of Haviland Schleiger 214 porcelain gravy/sauce boat exudes antique charm and elegance. On Blank 206 with a 1897 patent, this line has one of the most intricate treatments of embossed swags dripping on the verge.

This was made for the high end retailer Albin Denk of Vienna, Austria which is still in business after more than 300 years.With that, this variant is truly exquisite with a solid line of gold at the gently scalloped rim instead of brushed gold daubs and highlighted fabulously with raised gold encrusted double row of dots along with acanthus leaves parading around the rim of each item.  This will add luxury to any dining experience.

The underplate is bowl is 8.75 inches long by 6 inches wide and an overall height of about 3 inches. Crafted in France between 1850-1899, this Haviland item is a well marked original. The printed backstamp of both the manufacturer and retailer attest to its authenticity.  The porcelain is delicate and translucent and you can see the backstamps when held up to the light.  Bring a vintage touch to your dining table with this exquisite set in excellent condition.
