For sale is an exceptional set a five period French Art Deco frosted glass slip shades for Henri Mouynet wall sconces and chandeliers.

The set of five each with matching scrolled palmetto designs.

The complete sconces and chandelier metal armature were made by Henri Mouynet. Mouynet was a producer of bronze and forged iron lighting fixtures. He had a large company in Paris working mainly in a neo-classical style but he made lamps, sconces, and chandeliers in the Art Deco style as well.

This set of wall sconces with these exact slip shades are represented in the old Henri Mouynet catalog (see last picture in our picture section)

These slip shades came directly out of an old estate where they were stored away in old paper for probably 60 years or more as we were told. They have a frosted glass finish but they are very dirty and need a good soaking and currently have a slight amber appearance.

There are no breaks and no hair lines in any of these slip shades. Some very very minor flea bites but nothing obtrusive and hardly noticeable unless upon very close inspection. Normal metal rub markings on slip/glass contact area.

This pattern with the scrolling palmetto design is a very very hard to find pattern. It is both elegant yet refined and represents French Art Deco design at its finest.

While these were original to the Henri Mouynet sconces and chandeliers, it is thought that another French maker, possibly Degue, manufactured the glass slip shades for Mouynet.

We have included photos of these slip shades in both chandelier form and wall sconce form for your consideration.
