This is a vintage 1983 Boss FV-100 volume pedal. Made in Japan. It is a passive volume pedal so no power is required. These are nice because they have a minimum Volume knob you can set for the heel down position. I used it like that to play quieter parts without having to reach down for the guitar's volume knob. Of course, you can set the knob all the way down and it works like a normal volume pedal going down to zero volume, which is more useful for swells. The serial number on the inside of the bottom plate is 358000, dating it to October 1983. The pedal has plenty of paint scrapes, which gives it plenty of vintage mojo. Sure, you can find one that looks new but which one looks cooler sitting next to an old beat up Cry Baby plugged into an old Marshall? I went through it and cleaned the pots with DeOxit and cleaned the jacks so it works perfectly!
