META GABBRO HORNBLENDE POLISHED SLAB TASMANIAN BLIZZARD STONE 94 X 88 X 15 MM 262 G

Metagabbro, also known as Tasmanian Blizzard stone is a metamorphosed variant of Gabbro, the rock's other name is scapolite-hornblende as the rock itself does not contain any feldspars (as expected in gabbros) but instead, the white minerals are scapolit with the dark green/grey mineral being hornblende. These rock specimens also appear to exhibit a possible form of banding, as the dark hornblende appear to orientated in a almost uniform direction.
