  • Beschreibung: Man will an die berühmten Darstellungen der "Versuchung des Heiligen Antonius" denken, die seit der Gotik in größerer Zahl, unter anderem von namhaften Künstlern wie Hieronymus Bosch, Martin Schongauer und Matthias Grünewald, später von Salvator Rosa, Max Beckmann, Max Ernst und Salvador Dali ausgeführt wurde. Der fromme Mönch in religiöser Versenkung lässt sich selbst von der unmittelbar vor ihm sitzenden, den Betenden gar sanft berührenden Schönheit nicht in Versuchung führen. Der Blick des Heiligen ist fest auf das große Kreuz gerichtet und entsagt aller Verführung in seiner Nähe.

  • Description: One wants to think of the famous depictions of the "Temptation of St. Anthony", which have been executed in greater numbers since the Gothic period, among others by renowned artists such as Hieronymus Bosch, Martin Schongauer and Matthias Grünewald, and later by Salvator Rosa, Max Beckmann, Max Ernst and Salvador Dali. The pious monk in religious contemplation does not allow himself to be tempted even by the beauty sitting directly in front of him, touching the praying man even gently. The saint's gaze is firmly fixed on the large cross and renounces all seduction in its vicinity.
