Listing for one knob and one escutcheon. Genuine Bakelite knob manufactured by National Brass Co. Bakelite was one of the original plastics. First patented in 1909 it wasn't until the mid nineteen twenties that it found it's was into everday use. The exact date of manufacture of these is hard to pinpoint. National Brass (1912 -1955) was one of the early manufacturers of Bakelite doorknobs so most likely these will date from the mid 1920's to early 1930's. Knobs have an iron insert in the stem for strength that will require a threaded spindle. It will also require a set screw.
Remember that these are old pieces, many coming from homes well over 100 years old so they will NEVER EVER be perfect and will always show some evidence of natural wear.
