This highly decorative French sign which is made of painted sheet metal was once the side of a Cafes Debray cart and dates from around the late 19th century.

This sign which is in it's original rustic condition has the wording Cafes Debray hand painted to the front, has an old wooden frame and still has the metal clasp attached to it which was part of the coffee traders cart.

Cafes Debray carts were used in Paris in the late 19th century and early 20th century to sell coffee and were often pulled by a dog (please see picture which shows this).

This rustic sign has lots of attractive age related wear and tear giving it a super cool look. Perfect to hang in a coffee shop, cafe, restaurant, hotel or just a nice decorative piece for your kitchen.

Condition: Well used original as found antique condition with lots of age related wear, tear, corrosion, scratches and holes leaving a wonderful decorative look. Wood frame has some missing sections, dried wood and old worm holes (Has been treated). Please see pictures.
