  • Beschreibung: Leto war die Tochter der Titanen Coeus und Phoebe. Sie gebar Artemis und Apollo, die Kinder des Zeus, auf der Insel Delos. Da Hera, die Gattin des Zeus, wütend auf Leto war, floh sie durch Lykien. Als sie Durst hatte und Wasser aus einem Brunnen trinken wollte, störten die Bauern sie, indem sie Schlamm aufwirbelten und das Wasser ungenießbar machten. Leto bestrafte sie, indem sie alle in Frösche verwandelte.

  • Description: Leto was the daughter of the Titans Coeus and Phoebe. She gave birth to Artemis and Apollo, the children of Zeus, on the island of Delos. Since Hera, Zeus' wife, was angry with Leto, she fled through Lycia. When she was thirsty and wanted to drink water from a well, the peasants disturbed her by stirring up mud and making the water undrinkable. Leto punished them by turning them all into frogs.
