  • Beschreibung: Fotografie eines halbfigurigen Scherenschnitts im Profil. Die Dargestellte trägt Kleid und Stoffhaube im Stil des Biedermeier. Die Arbeit stammt aus dem Studio der berühmten Dresdner Fotografin Grete Back (eigtl. Margarete Bertha Back), die nach einer Lehre bei Hugo Erfurth in Dresden auch im europäischen Ausland tätig war und schließlich 1909 in Dresden ein eigenes Studio eröffnete. Der Schwerpunkt ihrer fotografischen Arbeit liegt in der Porträt- und Theaterfotografie. Links unterhalb der Darstellung befindet sich die Signatur der Fotografin (abfotografiert). Rückseitig befindet sich ein Stempel ihres Ateliers: "Grete Back Dresden-Blasewitz Prellerstrasse 24".

      Minnie Nast zählt zu den großen deutschen Opernsängerinnen des frühen 20. Jahrhunderts. Nach ihrem musikalischen Studium am Badischen Konservatorium in Karlsruhe machte sie ihr gesangliches Debüt 1897 in Aachen. Sie begann eine erfolgreiche Karriere, die sie unter anderem auf die Bühnen in Kanada, den Vereinigten Staaten von Amerika, Russland, den Niederlanden und Großbritannien führte. Bis 1919 sang die Sopranistin regelmäßig in der Semperoper zu Dresden. Danach lehrte sie bis 1945 Gesang in Dresden. Minnie Nast ist für ihre munteren und leichten Verkörperungen von Soubrettenrollen, vor allem in Mozart-Opern, bekannt. Eine herausragende Leistung erwies sie am 26. Januar 1911 als sie bei der Uraufführung von Richard Strauss' Der Rosenkavalier die Rolle der Sophie sang. Durch erhaltene Tonaufnahmen kann man noch heute ihre klare und bezaubernde Stimme erleben.

  • Description: Photograph of a half-figure silhouette in profile. The sitter is wearing a Biedermeier-style dress and cloth bonnet. The work comes from the studio of the famous Dresden photographer Grete Back (real name Margarete Bertha Back), who after an apprenticeship with Hugo Erfurth in Dresden also worked in other European countries and finally opened her own studio in Dresden in 1909. The focus of her photographic work is portrait and theatre photography. Below the image on the left is the photographer's signature (photographed). On the reverse is a stamp of her studio: "Grete Back Dresden-Blasewitz Prellerstrasse 24".

      Minnie Nast is one of the great German opera singers of the early 20th century. After her musical studies at the Baden Conservatory in Karlsruhe, she made her singing debut in Aachen in 1897. She embarked on a successful career that took her to stages in Canada, the United States of America, Russia, the Netherlands and Great Britain, among others. Until 1919, the soprano sang regularly at the Semper Opera in Dresden. After that she taught singing in Dresden until 1945. Minnie Nast is known for her lively and light embodiments of soubrette roles, especially in Mozart operas. She gave an outstanding performance on 26 January 1911 when she sang the role of Sophie in the world premiere of Richard Strauss' Der Rosenkavalier. Through preserved recordings, one can still experience her clear and enchanting voice today.
