OTTO HEINO Studio Pottery EXCEPTIONAL Bowl MASSIVE Signed! 

Fabulous Otto Heino red bowl, with a smooth texture and three sets of three red protrusions around the exterior. The rim and base are finished with a matte, dark almost metallic colored glaze. There are glaze skips on both the rim and base, very common in Heino's similar works from the early 2000's.

Excellent condition, and ready to display! Light residue from the original label near the bottom (visible on 4th photo). No chips, scratches scuffs or imperfections. Please see our photos for complete details. Measures 8.25" diameter at widest, mouth is 7" wide, and 6" tall. Incised on bottom "OTTO 04". Extremely nice piece! 

Vivika and Otto Heino collaborated from 1950 until 1995, the year of Vivika’s death. Otto continued making pottery through his death in 2009. They purchased a house in Ojai, a small community in the mountains northwest of Los Angeles, built by Beatrice Wood, a friend since 1952. Their pottery studio, The Pottery, produced functional and decorative vessels, as well as architectural commissions. Their work is distinguished by its distinctive glazes. Together, Otto and Vivika participated in over 200 national and international exhibits, and were awarded many distinctions and recognitions. Selected Vivika & Otto Heino exhibitions include:
