Inmitten seiner aufgebrachten Brüder binden zwei Männer Benjamin. Triumphierend hält ein weiterer den silbernen Becher als Beweisstück in die Höhe. Die Brüder hatten bei ihrem Bruder Josef übernachtet, der sich ihnen aber nicht zu erkennen gegeben hatte. Er wollte prüfen, ob sich seine Brüder gebessert hätten und gab vor, bestohlen worden zu sein. Als sich die Brüder leidenschaftlich für Benjamin einsetzten war er gerührt, offenbarte seinen Namen und beschenkte sie. Simon Fokke (Amsterdam 1712 - Amsterdam 1784) war niederländischer Zeichner, Kupferstecher und Radierer.

  • Description: Inscribed lower right: "S. Fokke fecit", below: "Gen. XLIV. De Beeker werd in Benjamins sak gevonden. La Coupe trouvée dans le sac de Benjamin". In the midst of his enraged brothers, two men bind Benjamin. Triumphantly, another holds up the silver cup as evidence. The brothers had spent the night with their brother Joseph, but he had not made himself known to them. He wanted to check whether his brothers had reformed and pretended to have been robbed. When the brothers passionately interceded for Benjamin, he was touched, revealed his name and gave them a gift. Simon Fokke (Amsterdam 1712 - Amsterdam 1784) was a Dutch draughtsman, engraver and etcher.
