  • Beschreibung: Darstellung: Tafel Nr. 17. Wohl noch in seiner Züricher Zeit begann S. Walch sein bekanntestes Werk, das von ihm herausgegebenen und mit einem Vorwort und Text versehene Buch mit 60 Porträts sämtlicher Züricher Bürgermeister von 1336 bis 1742. Die Porträts gehen auf Vorlagen, die Johann Caspar Füssli nach Originalen in der Züricher Stadtbibliothek zeichnete zurück und die Walch selbst und Valentin Daniel Preissler in Schabmanier stachen. Aus: "Portraits aller Herren Burger-Meistern der vortrefflichen Republique, Stadt und Vor-Orths Zürich, von dem 1336ten biss auf das 1742te Jahr auf eigene Kosten in Kupffer gebracht, und herauss gegeben von Sebastian Walch".   • Zustand: Guter Zustand. Das Papier ist altersbedingt verfärbt. Das Blatt ist ganzseitig stockfleckig. Entlang der Blattkanten vereinzelt bestoßen. Die Blattecken sind minimal bestoßen. Die Darstellung macht einen sehr guten Eindruck. Wasserfleckig. Oberfläche mit Papierstruktur; im linken Blattrand mit kleinem Loch. Vereinzelte kleine Einrisse entlang der Blattkanten wurden verso geklebt,.

  • Description: Probably during his time in Zurich, S. Walch began his best-known work, the book with 60 portraits of all the mayors of Zurich from 1336 to 1742, which he edited and provided with a preface and text. The portraits are based on models drawn by Johann Caspar Füssli from originals in the Zurich City Library and engraved by Walch himself and Valentin Daniel Preissler in the Schabmanier style. The image makes a very good impression. Waterstained. Surface with paper texture; in the left margin with a small hole. Isolated small tears along the sheet edges were glued on verso,.
