Ireland 1938 Father Mathew "Flat 8" variety, Sc 101, Hib C13b, Mint LH €250.00

In 1938 Ireland issued a set of stamps to honor the centenary of the temperance crusade by Father Theobald Mathew (Scott 101-102). The 2p stamp had a variety found in position 20/6 on the sheet of stamps, the "flat first '8' " Hib C13b. This example is a very nicely centered, very lightly hinged mint example, but with some short perfs on the left side. The 2020 Hibernian catalogue gives a value of €250.00 . In the 40+ years I have been collecting, and then dealing, Irish stamps, this is only the 4th example I have had of this variety that I have always been looking for.

Stamp will be sent securely packaged and sent by USPS First Class Mail.
