The last year it was called the “Hookers Ball” as it was technically an illegal event, in years following the event was called “The Masquerade Ball”.

The event was held on a weekend around Halloween. The 1978 event filled The Cow Palace with a capcity crowd of 12,000 people. That years event attracted such guests as Jane Fonda and Francis Ford Coppola.
