Here is a vintage 1950’s 1960’s blue satin tulip print evening jacket. I am not sure if technically this is brocade fabric or considered embroidered, but it is a very interesting fabric thats for sure! It has no size or brand tags. I purchased this as vintage about 10-12 years ago, tried it on and never ended up wearing it.

Laying flat buttoned closed it measures 16.5” from underarm to underarm, 13.75” at the high waist and 37” in total length. I wear a modern say size 2-4 and it fits me, but pretty snugly at the high waist. Its a little lower than an empire waist…the high waist seam starts at about 15.75” down from the top, and the “skirt” of the jacket is about 22.5” long. This jacket has no shoulder seams and the sleeves hit me just at the elbow, but I am tall (5’9”). You definitely need a pretty small upper body to fit this jacket.

It is in very good vintage condition, upon very close inspection I noticed an area in the inner sleeve lining where the seam is coming apart, and an area about 8 inches long of the lining near the bottom front right has come un-tacked (there are 2 pins holding it in place), the top button thread is more “stretched” than the others but it is still securely attached, and in very bright light I noticed a small area under the last button that is a little different color, but it is hard to really notice since this fabric has different sheens…please see last 4 photos.

I am downsizing my vintage clothing collection so check out my other items as I am happy to combine shipping to save on costs.
