A dragon holding a pearl is a common image found in Chinese art and the tale is one of the oldest and best-known legends in Chinese folklore. The pearl is a symbol of wisdom, spiritual energy and power. The dragon represents prosperity and good luck as well as being a rain deity.

This antique Chinese brass vase with a Dragon chasing the Pearl of Knowledge came from an estate of several collectible antique Asian artifacts. The exact age of the vase is unkown, however, the Chinese character markings on the bottom of the vase indicate that it an antique piece.

This beautiful vase is a stunning piece of Chinese artistry. It features an intricate dragon on the outside of the vase chasing the Pearl of Knowledge. The Pearl of Knowledge is shown close to the dragon's open mouth.

The brass vase with its many etched design features of birds, flowers, leaves, and other meaningful artistry makes a fine addition to your Asian antique collection.

There is a small, pitted hole in the front of the vase that is shown in the pictures.

This piece is perfect for decorating purposes, to perhaps display on an altar, or to be used as a planter.

There is a lot of patina and oxidation on the inside of the vase, as well as patina on the outside of the vase. The vase has not been cleaned, as many collectors prefer to have the original features of old Chinese artifacts.

The vase is approximately 9 1/2 inches high.

The wooden stand is not included in this sale.
