For offer, a solid sterling silver WW2 dated cigarette case.

Having a silver & enamel Royal Artillery badge affixed to the front panel, engine turned decoration to front and reverse, gilt finish to the internal surface, the elasticated retaining strap is still present and functioning.

There is an engraved dedication within which reads: "With Love From Alex 25/12/39".

Hallmarked for the Birmingham assay office, year date letter of an uppercase "P" for 1939, and maker's mark of "S.B&S.Ld" for 'S Blanckensee & Son' of Birmingham.

The retailer is also engraved into the inner rim of "Robinson" of "Shrewsbury.

The condition is superb, with a couple of minor dings, the closing action is solid and closes with a definite 'click', all edges meet tightly together and the hinge is excellent.
