Low serial # ( 1,040,043) NES console just over the first one million NES consoles ever made! This is out of the approximately 40 million original NES units that were eventually sold in the United States, nearly one of the first 1 million NES consoles! This is the original console that came with this boxed set, many Deluxe Sets seen offered have a non-matching replacement console from a later production date so are not as collectible as having the early original set as it came from Nintendo.
From smoke-free climate-controlled environment, so no smoke or old musty odors absorbed into the box or any of the included items like many will have which greatly detract from condition and value, but of course can not be noticed from online photos. This set is super clean and nice, freshly serviced, clean and detailed, and fully game play tested! All photos are of the exact items buyer will receive, nothing else is included. This is an early release NES box set, produced before the much more common NES Action Set and Challenge Set that came later, and also before the basic NES Control Deck set that did not come with the Super Mario Bros. game. Only the "pre-Deluxe" early test market sets with R.O.B. from 1985 were offered before this version in the US. This Deluxe Set was offered around the same time as the NES Control Deck set that came with Super Mario Bros. in 1986 and into 1987. The Deluxe Set box is dated 1986 and original manual also dated 1986.
Console is a low serial # with the nice early smooth more glossy top finish consistent with when this set was produced, unlike the later much more common matte textured finish on the top casing of later NES units. Console also has the 'Inside Washington State' phone # on the label on the bottom of console, and the R circle symbol after Nintendo on the console lid which are indicative of earlier NES systems, as later NES units do not have these.
Includes early 5-screw style Gyromite and Duck Hunt game cartridges. Both carts cleaned and game play tested working on this console.
Original genuine Nintendo power supply, an original small RF connector, both original NES controllers in clean excellent working condition, and the original early Nintendo Made in JAPAN red and yellow Nintendo NES audio/video composite cables! Later much more commonly seen NES cables were no longer made in Japan.
Original NES Deluxe Set manual with R.O.B. on cover is clean and nice, unmarked inside. Original LARGE size fold-out NES Nintendo Game Plan poster dated 1986, never displayed or used. Original white system Styrofoam is complete, both the top and bottom halves. Styrofoam is nice clean original white, not stained or written on, some minor wear inside a couple small missing pieces, and the foam has some some typical scuffs and gouges from the box carry handle hitting the foam. The foam halves are not cracked and broken apart, or missing, like many are now.
The ORIGINAL Nintendo 72 pin game cart connector inside the NES console was removed and cleaned. The cart contact pins of the connector were also reset back to the original position, so they are not flattened out from use and make a solid connection with carts just like new again! This is a very common issue with the original NES which causes games not to load and the flashing red light issue. It is much preferred to take the time to restore the original high-quality Nintendo pin connector, instead of just replacing it with a low quality modern reproduction that likely won't last very long and typically will hold game carts much too tight which can cause damage.
This system loads and plays perfectly with the refurbished original genuine Nintendo pin connector! The main connector board inside the NES console where the pin connector attaches, and the pins where the carts make contact were all cleaned with high-quality electrical contact cleaner to ensure good connection. Contacts on the included game carts were also cleaned so this entire set works perfectly! Make sure any other game carts are clean before inserting so not to contaminate the clean pin connector in this NES.
NES console is in beautiful condition, not yellowed or discolored, no cracks or chips, lid corners not split or cracked! Very clean and nice compared to most seen now. Top of console was polished and cleaned to show off the nice smooth original finish! The inside of the NES was cleaned with compressed air so there is no dust or dirt inside, the console and both controllers are clean and fully detailed and work perfectly. This original NES complete boxed set is ready to prominently display and to play!
Interior NES box flaps not torn or missing some minor staining on the inner flaps, box is not taped over or written on, and the original UPC is still on box not cut out! Box carry handle on top is still present, not torn through the box or missing like many are now. Some typical minor shelf wear and signs of age to box as shown; overall an exceptionally nice box for nearly 38 years old! Box has nice glossy finish with bright vibrant colors, very solid heavy stock, perfect to prominently display!
These original NES boxed sets are very hard to find now in actual game play tested and fully working condition, and especially in this nice clean cosmetic condition! Most R.O.B. units seen offered are typically not even tested to power on, let alone set up and connected and game play tested with an original NES system. Many R.O.B. units will have defective gears inside, corroded battery compartments from old batteries left in, and other issues that make them in need of internal repairs to use. This one is inspected, freshly serviced, no battery corrosion, game play tested, and fully operational as it was when new! A great gift for a vintage Nintendo or classic toy collector!
R.O.B. Robot included comes complete with gyro spinner attachment, tray, gyro holder, both hands, and both red gyro spinners! This is the complete full set with all original parts needed to play the Gyromite game. All components are nice original color, not yellowed. R.O.B. was play tested prior to listing connected to this NES console and a vintage CRT color monitor (not shown), R.O.B. lights up and receives the signals from the CRT monitor; and responds to all the tests and the game commands in Gryromite!
R.O.B. performs the correct power on self-test, moves up and down, side to side, and opens/closes arms properly as originally designed. If you risk buying an untested R.O.B. it will likely not work or stay in position properly as internal gear failure is very common from previous use and due to the age, and the original internal gears design. This one has been fully inspected internally, gears freshly repaired as needed. Moves in all directions and torso stays firmly in place on the post as originally designed! NO corrosion in the battery compartments of R.O.B. or the spinner attachment! Spinner is shown working with a gyro inserted in the photos, the blur can be seen in the one photo of the fast-spinning gyro in the spinner!
Also includes the original Zapper light gun for use with the included Duck Hunt game, tested and working. R.O.B. and the NES Zapper will only work for actual gameplay on an older CRT style television or CRT monitor, NOT on any modern televisions. A CRT display is required to receive signals and register input from R.O.B. and the NES Zapper.
This complete boxed Deluxe Set is super clean, fully detailed all around, all parts are in clean and nice condition, not yellowed or discolored. NO corrosion in the battery compartments of the spinner or in R.O.B.! Many will have heavily corroded battery terminals from old batteries being left in and leaking out over time, ruining the contacts in R.O.B. and the spinner unit to the point they no longer function, or even break off if corroded badly enough. This set is clean, no battery leak damage! Batteries are not included- spinner attachment uses one D size battery, and ROB unit uses 4 AA size batteries.
