Unter der Darstellung signiert "Ant. Coypel pinx. / Desplace sculp.", darunter bezeichnet "Nec melabor iste gravabit. / Un des tableaux de la grande Gallerie du Palais Royal". Verso bezeichnet von fremder Hand mit den Lebensdaten des Künstlers.

  • Description: Aeneas carrying his father Anchises, figure from Greek mythology, known as the beautiful king of Dardania near Troy, a scion of an old Trojan royal family. Signed below the depiction "Ant. Coypel pinx. / Desplace sculp.", inscribed below "Nec melabor iste gravabit. / Un des tableaux de la grande Gallerie du Palais Royal". Inscribed on the verso by another hand with the artist's life data.
