  • Beschreibung: Nach einer Vorlage von William Tombleson (* um 1795 England). Das Blatt stammt wohl aus der Serie Views of the Rhine von um 1840. Schöne Ansicht des "Alten Kurhauses" in Wiesbaden mit klassizistischem Portikus und Kolonnaden, das 1810 von Christian Zais errichtet und im Jahre 1904 abgerissen wurde. Im Vordergrund sind flanierende Damen und Herren zu sehen sowie ein Kind, das mit einem Hund spielt.

  • Date: 19th century

  • Description: After an original by William Tombleson (* about 1795 England). The sheet probably originates from the series Views of the Rhine from about 1840. Beautiful view of the "Altes Kurhaus" in Wiesbaden with classicistic portico and colonnades, which was built in 1810 by Christian Zais and demolished in 1904. In the foreground are strolling ladies and gentlemen and a child playing with a dog.

  • Condition: Good condition. Distinctive waviness and creases are visible in the image. Sporadic pale foxing is visible. The upper right corner of the sheet is bent diagonally. The colours are freshly preserved.
