ROCKET RANGER is an action adventure game published in 1988 by Cinemaware (Defender of the Crown, It Came From the Desert). Like many Cinemaware games, Rocket Ranger is inspired by Hollywood, and probably also by the Rocketeer comics. The game pays homage to the many science fiction series of the 1950s and uses the look and feel of the series, including action-packed cutscenes and art design that stays true to the futuristic visions of the era.
As the player, you take on the role of a US Army scientist sitting in a top-secret bunker one night, puzzling over some difficult physics problems, when some futuristic artifacts are amazingly teleported to you - along with a note stating that the artifacts are from the future, a future in which the Nazis won World War II and were subsequently able to enslave the entire world. The scientists who sent the artifacts did so in the hope that you could reverse the outcome of the war, a war that Nazi Germany rightly should have lost...
