An incredible piece of fashion history!

John Stephen, also known as the King of Carnaby Street, was a hugely influential part of 1960s Swinging London. He opened his first boutique in 1957 selling stylish and colourful suits to men, becoming a key part of the peacock revolution and an undeniable influence on London's street style. By 1967, Stephen had 15 shops throughout Carnaby Street and central London. It's hard to imagine what Carnaby Street would have looked like without John Stephen!
