Eliot, was a major figure in twentieth-century literary circles in New York City and at Harvard, where he taught. His short-story collection "The World is a Wedding" is a classic of the period and social milieu. A long-time editor of the Partisan Review, Schwartz was considered by John Berryman to be "The most underrated poet of the twentieth-century."
