The rim has lettering that reads "FRANCE" and "20 CM" (8 inches).

Very good condition. There are very slight scratches around the top of the glass lid, likely from when it was placed upside down on the pan when stored. They are not very noticeable. There are also very slight (fingernail?) scratches on the stainless escutcheon under the black knob handle.

The lower edge of the rim has three slight bows of glass that Scanpan ingenuously designed to keep the lip very slightly above the pan rim so steam can escape. Nice feature for this lid.

If your pot or pan has an 8" opening, this glass lid will work. The outer edge of the rim portion that fits into the pan is exactly 7 3/4" in diameter. The outer diameter of the lid that rests on top of the pan is 8 3/8".

Scanpan states that the glass lid and handle are oven proof to 500 degrees F.
