This Maxfield Parrish illustration is a true gem for any art collector. The piece, titled 'Atlas', was created in 1910 and is from a first edition book entitled  "A Wonder Book and Tanglewwod Tales".  Written by Nathaniel Hawthorne.   Illustrated by Maxfield Parrish.   The artwork features intricate detail and moody colors that bring the fantasy world to life. Measuring at 6.25 inches in length and 5 inches in width, this illustration is a small yet powerful addition to any art collection. It is unframed and printed on paper using the single offset color print technique. The print surface is paper, and the item is a licensed reprint.

Before you vilify me for taking this piece out of a first edition antique book,  let me explain.   I bought this book from an out of state online auction.   I was not able to pre-inspect.  It wasn't disclosed that some of the illustrations were missing and already removed.   So, I decided to remove what was left in an effort to sell what I could. 

Shown in this listing is facing page 88 from the book.  The print is in great condition.  The border around the print has a few stains.   See pictures for condition.  The last four pictures show the book it came from.  Book not included in the sale.
