Description: Collection of three drama films. 'The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel' (2015) stars Maggie Smith as Muriel Donnelly, the manager of the hotel owned by Sonny Kapoor (Dev Patel) and Evelyn Greenslade (Judi Dench). When Sonny realises that he has only one room left in his ever-expanding hotel, he decides to dream bigger than ever and open the Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel in Jaipur. The cast also includes Richard Gere, Tamsin Greig and Bill Nighy. 'Belle' (2013) follows Dido (Gugu Mbatha-Raw), the daughter of English Naval captain Sir John Lindsay (Matthew Goode) and an African woman. Sent to England to be raised on the Kenwood House Estate by her uncle, Lord Mansfield (Tom Wilkinson), Dido quickly realises that her ethnicity is problematic in upper class society. Though her cousin Elizabeth (Sarah Gadon) accepts her friendship immediately and the girls become inseparable, Lord Mansfield and Lady Mansfield (Emily Watson) are tormented by the question of Dido's social status. However, when she meets dashing young lawyer John Davinier (Sam Reid), she discovers an Englishman who accepts her as she is and offers his hand in marriage. Finally, in 'Far from the Madding Crowd' (2015), humble shepherd Gabriel Oak (Matthias Schoenaerts) uses his life's savings and a hefty loan to purchase his very own sheep farm. Gabriel is working hard, perfectly content with his life, when his eyes meet those of Bathsheba Everdene (Carey Mulligan), his new young neighbour who has come to live with her aunt. Although many worlds and classes apart, the two have an instant connection and Gabriel quickly proposes marriage. Valuing her independence greatly, Bathsheba refuses Gabriel's proposal and moves away to start anew. However, as they both begin new chapters in their lives, fate endeavours to bring them back together.
