This is a Limited Edition Harley Davidson 'Velo Glide' bicycle manufactured Under License by GT Bicycles.
I have owned this bike from new when I purchased from Smithfield Bicycles, Cranleigh Surrey in 1998 - I have the original promotional flyers and technical manuals (see last photos).
Very few of these bicycles were imported and distributed in the UK and I have never seen another Velo Glide in the 25 years I've owned one - you are looking at something pretty rare
This bike has been ridden over those 25 years but very occasionally, always in the dry and is is mechanically perfect. The Shimano internal gears and hub brakes are super smooth, totally effortless and the whole ride is upright, relaxed and incredibly comfortable.
Its been very well stored in the dry and dark so the tyres are supple and robust. These are couple of minor blemishes and some very light corrosion on the Shimano alloy (see photos) but nothing that detracts from the overall look, the photos reflect the overall condition of this bicycle.

Harley-Davidson Velo Glide...
Over seventy years ago, William Harley and the Davidson brothers got out of the bicycle business.
Three quarters of a century passed before Harley-Davidson reached into history, gave it a new twist, and introduced the Harley Davidson Limited Edition by GT Bicycles. Needless to say, we stirred up a few ghosts and made a lot of noise.
The same excitement is reignited in the Harley-Davidson Velo Glide. It is the genuine article, officially licensed by the Harley-Davidson Motor Company and proudly built by GT Bicycles.

What do you see when you look at the Velo Glide? Sure it's a bicycle, but if that's all you see, take a closer look
The Velo Glide is pure Harley-Davidson. It's not about getting from Point A to Point B the fastest or the most economically. The Velo Glide makes a statement and does it with style. It just feels right, even if you can't explain why.
Take, for example, the rear fender, which is a virtual scale model of the "Bobtail" rear fender featured on various Harley-Davidson motorcycles. It's design is refined and timeless. The same can be said of a half a dozen of the other features. Let your eyes wander up to the chrome rear fender struts. Above that you can't miss the tone-on-tone embroidered Eagle with Bar & Shield on the saddle.
Stand back and your appreciation grows. Your exceptions are exceeded. There's definitely more here than meets the eye. So it's sort of a shame that production will be limited in the first year.
But, then again, they aren't for everyone....
Thanks for looking, collection is preferred for obvious reasons but I can arrange postage and insurance at £60.00 with Paisley Freight (this will need to be seriously discussed ahead of making the purchase, I recently had a bike be delivered with minor damage so my faith in the previously excellent couriers has dwindled somewhat)
