History:  Stephen Glass was a noted Hungarian art photographer working in the 1940/50's specialising in female nude studies.  Along with producing nude art portraits at his studio in Church Street, Chelsea, he did a lot of outdoor work at the Spielplatz nudist resort for various naturist magazines.  (Google Search Stephen Glass Photographer for more information and details of books published about the Stephen Glass Collection.  Also search Zoltan Glass, Stephen's brother, who was another high profile art photographer of the period.

Provenance:  Stephen Glass's estate was administered in the 1980's  the photographic archive being sold through Christie's.  I was lucky enough to subsequently have access to part of this archive and fortunate to buy over 60 negatives and contact prints from a selection of his studio work. I had in mind a project of producing a limited edition of high quality framed prints.  Along with a specialist studio I set about this and we made a run of fine silver gelatin studies. Initially just 16 of the negatives were used with 20 copies taken from each negative.  Some were then framed ready for exhibition.  As it happened the photographic project was then put on temporary hold.   And there it has stayed for some 25 years.  I am now listing for sale the prints produced from that session; all being in perfect condition.
